Jennifer is a highly experienced UK & European Patent Attorney with twenty years of Intellectual property experience obtained within private practice and in-house.
Having trained at a large IP practice in London, Jennifer then spent over eight years in-house with a world-leading multinational tool company, where she provided IP support for a range of business units including an oil & gas pipeline welding subsidiary and an innovative drill-bit plant in Germany. During this time, Jennifer handled a wide range of issues relating to patents, trademarks, and industrial designs, also gaining significant experience surrounding IP asset management, transfer, licensing, and value realisation.
Jennifer joined Openshaw & Co in 2020, where she primarily advises on a range of patent and other IP matters in the fields of mechanical engineering, process engineering, and materials science, specialising in patent prosecution, with a strong track record in EPO Oral Proceedings.
Jennifer holds a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, which included a final year project on combustion processes. This knowledge continues to be put to good use, with Jennifer applying her expertise across a growing range of areas. These include the development of synthetic fuels and fuel additives, optimising waste combustion and environmental innovations through to chemical plant design.
Jennifer brings a holistic view to innovation development and processes, which has been hugely beneficial for clients tackling complex challenges such as addressing sustainability and green energy solutions for automotive, rail, marine and aerospace.
