Having gained a first class master's degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Manchester and following graduation, Obaidah founded his own business, having developed a product, filed for and then successfully been granted a patent.

Obaidah joined the IP legal profession in 2021 and has since worked on prosecution, drafting, and filing of patents to both the UK Intellectual Property Office and European Patent Office relating to a range of fields including power electronics, control systems, power distribution systems, medical devices, analytical instruments, and jet engines.
