Yichuan conducts patent work in the fields of electronics and mechanical engineering for multinational and SME clients covering a range of technologies, including telecommunications, consumer electronics and specialist industrial pumps.

He has extensive experience particularly within telecommunications, specifically on 5G, IoT and Standard Essential Patents (SEPs). Yichuan also has significant in-depth competence covering display innovation and optics, including micro-LED, OLED, privacy displays, directional illumination, and other display technologies.

During his career, Yichuan has also worked on a broad variety of mechanical engineering fields covering areas as diverse as gas turbine engines to domestic appliances, where he has successfully drafted and prosecuted patent applications to grant across UK and Europe.

Yichuan has considerable experience of EPO oral proceedings, has undertaken opposition as well as provide opinion on freedom to operate (FTO).
